Introduction
VerseWise ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). By using VerseWise, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
Account Information (Optional)
- •If you choose to sign in using Google or Apple Sign-In, we receive your email address and display name
- •Account creation is entirely optional. You can use the full app without signing in
Study Circle Information
- •Display name and optional avatar when joining Study Circles
- •Insights, reflections, and prayer requests you choose to share with your circle
Email List Subscription
- •If you subscribe to our email list, your email address is stored locally and transmitted to our server for mailing list management
- •You can unsubscribe at any time, and your email will be removed from our mailing list
Prayer Room Data
- •Prayer journal entries and timer sessions are stored locally on your device
- •Prayer requests shared in Study Circles are stored on our servers

- •Completed lessons, XP earned, study streaks
- •Stored locally on your device by default
- •Synced to servers only if you sign in

Audio Bible Integration
VerseWise integrates with Bible Brain (Digital Bible Platform), provided by Faith Comes By Hearing, to deliver audio Bible functionality. The app also includes Stories of Redemption, original audio content hosted on Cloudflare R2. When you use audio features:
- •Audio content from licensed translations is streamed directly from Bible Brain servers (4.dbt.io)
- •When streaming Bible audio, the requested book/chapter and your IP address are transmitted to Faith Comes By Hearing's Bible Brain API servers
- •Stories of Redemption audio is delivered from Cloudflare R2 storage
- •We do not store or process the audio data ourselves
- •Bible Brain's privacy policy applies to their services
Bible Text API
VerseWise uses the Bolls.life API to fetch licensed Bible translations. When you read any of the licensed translations (NIV, NASB, AMP, RSV in Premium, plus ESV, NKJV, NLT, and CSB which are licensed but free):
- •The requested book and chapter are transmitted to bolls.life servers to retrieve the text
- •Downloaded text is cached locally in Hive storage (bible_api_cache box) for offline access
- •No personal information or account data is sent with these requests
- •Standard network information (such as your IP address) may be logged by the API provider
Content Downloads
VerseWise downloads expansion content and audio metadata from Cloudflare R2 to enhance your study experience.
- •Expansion packs and audio metadata files are downloaded from Cloudflare R2 storage
- •IP addresses may be logged by Cloudflare as part of standard content delivery
- •Downloaded content is stored locally on your device for offline access
Prayer Room Data
The Prayer Room feature provides a personal space for your prayer life. Here is how your prayer data is handled:
- •Prayer journal entries are stored locally on your device and are never sent to our servers
- •Prayer wall content is stored locally on your device
- •Prayer timer sessions and statistics remain on your device
- •Prayer requests you choose to share in Study Circles are stored on our servers so circle members can see them
- •Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored prayer data
Notifications
VerseWise can send you helpful reminders if you choose to enable notifications:
- •All notifications are scheduled locally on your device
- •Daily devotional reminders help you maintain a consistent study habit
- •Inactivity reminders gently encourage you to return to your studies
- •No push notification data is sent to external servers
- •You can enable or disable notifications at any time in your device settings
Text-to-Speech
VerseWise offers a text-to-speech feature for reading Bible passages aloud.
- •TTS is processed entirely on-device using the system's built-in speech engine
- •No voice data is transmitted externally
- •Voice selection and playback settings are stored locally on your device
Sharing Activity
VerseWise allows you to share content such as verses, stickers, and notes.
- •When you share content, the shared data is passed to your device's native share sheet
- •VerseWise does not track what you share or with whom
- •Sharing is handled entirely by your operating system

- Standard CDN access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested resource) apply per Cloudflare's privacy policy
Bolls.life API
- Provides licensed Bible translation text (ESV, NKJV, NLT, CSB, NIV, NASB, AMP, RSV)
- The requested book and chapter are transmitted to bolls.life servers
- Downloaded text is cached locally in Hive storage (bible_api_cache box) for offline access
- No personal data shared with this service
RevenueCat
- Manages subscription status verification
- Communicates with Apple/Google servers and RevenueCat's servers
- Purchase receipts and subscription identifiers are transmitted
- No personal content or study data is shared

Children's Privacy
VerseWise is suitable for all ages and can be used without creating an account or providing any personal information. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Enjoy VerseWise without signing in or providing any personal information. All features work offline.
Delete Your Data

No Advertisements
VerseWise does not display advertisements. We believe in providing a clean, distraction-free environment for studying God's Word.
Universal Links and Deep Links
VerseWise supports universal links for a seamless experience between the web and the app.
- •The app registers handlers for tranquilitypages.com/versewise/* URLs
- •Opening these links on a device with VerseWise installed may open the app directly
- •No additional data is collected through this process
Cloud Sync
An optional Premium feature that keeps your library in sync across the devices you sign into. Cloud Sync is off by default; your data stays on your device unless you turn it on.
Sign-in
When you turn on Cloud Sync, you sign in with your Apple ID, your Google account, or an email + password you create. We keep the email address (or, for Apple/Google, the opaque sub identifier from the identity token, which does not reveal your name or email) so we can recognize you on future sign-ins. We never see your Apple or Google password. If you use email + password, your password is hashed with PBKDF2 and a per-user salt before being stored; we never see the plaintext.
What gets synced
Only your library and a small amount of device coordination data:
- •Bookmarks, highlights, notes, prayer requests, lesson progress, and sermon drafts
- •A randomly-generated device id (used to keep multiple devices in sync without conflicts)
- •The platform name (
iosorandroid) for diagnostics
We do not sync your contacts, photos, location, advertising identifier, browsing history, or any data unrelated to the cloud-sync feature.
Where your data lives
Cloud Sync data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (a serverless SQLite database) and Cloudflare R2 (object storage), encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Cloudflare acts as a sub-processor under a Data Processing Addendum.
Sub-processors
We use the following service providers to operate Cloud Sync. Each is bound by a data-processing agreement and is named here so you know exactly who handles your data:
- •Cloudflare, Inc. — D1 database, R2 object storage, Workers compute
- •Resend Inc. — transactional email (password reset)
- •RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription entitlement verification
- •Apple Inc. — Sign in with Apple identity verification
- •Google LLC — Google Sign-In identity verification, Play Store receipt verification
Data deletion
You can sign out of Cloud Sync at any time from Settings → Cloud Sync → Sign out. Signing out keeps your data on your device but pauses cloud sync.
To delete the data we hold on your behalf, use Settings → Cloud Sync → (signed in) → Wipe my cloud data in the app, or email us at tranquilitypages@gmail.com. We process deletion requests within 30 days.
Local data on your device is independent of cloud-side deletion; you can clear it separately from Settings → Data & Storage → Delete All Data.
Retention
We keep Cloud Sync data while your account is active. If you have not signed in for 24 months, we may delete your account and the data with it; we will email you first. You can request deletion sooner at any time as described above.
