How Much Does It Cost to Publish a Christian Book?

The honest range

A professionally edited, designed and distributed Christian book costs somewhere between $1,300 and $3,500 USD when the services are bought together as a package. Bought one at a time from freelancers, the same work usually lands in the same range but takes more of your time to coordinate, and the pieces do not always fit together.

Anything far below that range usually means a step has been skipped, most often developmental editing or a designed cover. Anything far above it deserves a line by line explanation of what the extra money buys.

What each service costs on its own

What the packages include

Packages exist because the services work better together, and because a single team carrying the whole project removes the gaps between freelancers. Each Tranquility Pages package is a fixed price, and the price shown on the services page is the exact amount billed at checkout.

• Essentials, $1,350 USD, 8 to 12 weeks: line editing and copyediting, cover design with three concepts, interior formatting, ISBN and distribution setup, basic marketing materials, and 30 days of launch support. Best for authors with a polished manuscript.
• Mentored, $2,375 USD, 12 to 16 weeks: everything in Essentials plus full developmental editing, weekly mentoring calls, five cover concepts, author platform guidance, a comprehensive marketing plan, and 90 days of launch support. Our most chosen package.
• Partnership, $3,470 USD, 16 to 20 weeks: everything in Mentored plus ghostwriting support where needed, premium distribution channels, a media kit and press outreach, speaking engagement support, six months of ongoing marketing support, and priority access. Best for authors building a ministry platform.

Costs that are not in the package

Be clear eyed about the costs that sit outside any publisher's package. Printing your own author copies is paid per copy to the printer. Paid advertising on Amazon or social platforms is optional and entirely under your control. If you want a hardcover as well as a paperback, that is an additional ISBN and an additional interior file. Copyright registration is a small government fee. None of these are hidden; they are simply yours to decide.

How to read a publishing quote

A good quote answers four questions plainly. What exactly is included, stage by stage? Who owns the rights and the files when the work is done? What royalties do you keep? What happens if the manuscript needs more editing than expected?
